Nagoya Grampus (formerly Nagoya Grampus Eight) is a Japanese football (soccer) club which is joining of the Japan Professional Football League (J.LEAGUE), and based in Nagoya.
Nagoya Grampus was formed with the following philosophy: To promote "football;" a sport that attracts widespread popularity across the globe, to as many citizens as possible and contribute to communication with people worldwide. Nagoya Grampus, also called the "NOBLE BARBARIAN" is committed to venture out into the sporting world with the keywords of "AGGRESSIVE," "CLEAN," "NEVER GIVE UP" and "VIVID" in their hearts.

The emblem, in the shape of a shield topped with a crown to represent a king, incorporates the design of the initial characters of Grampus Eight and Nagoya’s symbol, the “killer whale.”Barbarian red represents wildness and fighting spirit, noble red indicates intelligence and affection, star orange characterizes brightness and beauty in team spirit. This emblem was officially adopted in 1998.
